Jason joined Lichfield Planning in 2007 after working as a planning assistant in two London Boroughs where he gained a wide range of experience in dealing with planning casework, which he is now putting to good use in advising private sector clients on development proposals and planning applications.  He is presently studying for an MA in Urban and Regional Planning, which will also lead to membership of The Royal Town Planning Institute.

2007 to date - Planner with Lichfield Planning
2006 to 2007 - Planning Enforcement Officer, London Borough of Hackney
Main duties were to investigate alleged breaches in planning control, including changes of use, construction works, live/work occupancies and a range of other cases for the Enforcement Backlog Team.  Working with a varied and sometimes complex workload, it was provided a wide range of advice to transgressors and complainants on aspects of planning control and alleged breaches with a view to resolving them both practically and amicably.  As Duty Planner he worked with the public, advising on planning matters, including Permitted Development rights.
2006 - Planning Assistant, Sutton Council: This was an unpaid placement to gain some practical experience within a planning environment before beginning his career.  During this placement he had the opportunity to work alongside planners within the policy planning section, learning about the Borough’s UDP and LDF He also carried out a survey of office premises in the Borough for development plan purposes. 

Experience

Jason’s local authority experience is currently being broadened through his involvement with private sector clients in progressing development proposals, planning applications and other planning casework.

He is also working towards his MA in Urban and Regional Planning and to becoming a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute.

Projects

Dummer Golf Course: Assisting with the preparation of a Landscape Character Assessment/Visual Impact Assessment and Traffic Management Plan for a golf course remodelling proposal in Dummer, Basingstoke.

Goals Soccer PLC: Assisting in the preparation of Planning Statements, mainly focusing on relevant Local Plan policies.

Planning Enforcement and Appeals: Input to work relating to planning enforcement and appeals, including 184 Finchley Road where a Certificate of Lawfulness application was submitted to halt enforcement action at a commercial property in Camden and an ongoing Enforcement Notice appeal at a residential property within the London Borough of Brent.

Local Development Framework:  Monitoring and Local Plan monitoring for British Airways.
